SINGHA IWWF World Cable Championships
A record number of riders and countries will compete in the 2022 SINGHA IWWF World Cable Wakeboard & Wakeskate Championships from 31st October to 6th November 2022.
Over 250 riders from 33 countries have already registered to participate in the competition and some have begun to arrive in Thailand to prepare for the event.
The 2022 SINGHA IWWF World Cable Wakeboard & Wakeskate Championships will be organised by the Thailand Extreme Sports Association (TESA) and held at ESC Thai Wake Park. The event was originally scheduled to be held in 2020 but has been postponed to 2022 due to the global pandemic.
“I am so pleased that Thailand, one of the most popular destinations in the world for cable wakeboarding, will finally get to host its first IWWF world-titled event. I believe TESA, who have so admirably stuck to the game plan to host this event despite the long delay and challenges, will provide a memorable experience for the world's best cable riders and everyone who attends”, said IWWF President, Jose Antonio Perez Priego.
ESC Thai Wake Park is a collaboration project between ESC, a real estate developer, and Thai Wake Park (TWP). It features a main anti-clockwise 5-tower Rixen cableway, a Rixen Little Bro training cableway, more than 12 full plastic features and night riding. The park is located in the Rangsit area, only 40 minutes from the centre of Bangkok, 30-minutes from Don Mueang International Airport and 60 minutes from Suvarnabhumi Airport.
In addition to a cable wake park, with its 800,000 square metres of land, the project consists of a golf driving range, onsite accommodation, a convention room where the final night banquet and closing ceremony will be held, a variety of restaurants, a pre-existing shooting studio, a mini-skate park, fitness centre and a football field.
The 2022 SINGHA IWWF World Cable Wakeboard & Wakeskate Championships will be live-streamed daily from 1st - 6th October 2022 on IWWF’s YouTube Channel.
